What will our development bring to the area?

Community contributions

As well as providing a range of new community and recreation facilities within the development site, we will also be making significant contributions towards improving existing local services, facilities and infrastructure. These contributions have been agreed as a condition of the existing outline planning permission for the masterplan area, and include the following:

  • £4 million and land for a new primary school
  • £1.75 million for secondary school provision
  • £250,000 highways contribution
  • Land for park and ride site
  • £71,760 libraries contribution
  • £598,000 Travel Plan contribution
  • £400,000 community facilities contribution

New homes also benefit the local community by generating additional local authority income. It is estimated that, based on the proposed number of new homes, an additional £1.2 million per year will be paid to the local authority through Council Tax revenues.

The Local Authority will also receive £8 million over six years through the New Homes Bonus.  This is a grant paid by central government to Local councils for increasing the amount of homes in their area.

Local netball team receives essential funding from our East Anglia team

A new women’s netball team in Norwich are looking the part on the court thanks to a sponsorship boost from our East Anglia team. We gave £450 to the Panthers Netball Team to fund a new match kit and other essential items.

In June 2018, 10 friends established the Panthers Netball Team, which competes in the Norwich Netball League. Although the club is still in its infancy, they have already made a name for themselves.

Commenting on the donation received, team captain Jade Hills, said: “We’re very grateful to have received this generous donation from Taylor Wimpey, which has helped us to fund our new kit. Even though we’re a new team, we are extremely driven to get to the top of the Norwich Netball League table and our new kit really helps us to look professional and focused on the court. On behalf of the whole Panthers team, I’d love to say a huge thank you to Taylor Wimpey for supporting us.”

Caroline Carter, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey East Anglia, said: “We are fully committed to supporting communities in which we build our new homes, and we were delighted to help the Panthers Netball Team and provide them with a new kit. We look forward to following the team’s progress and wish them every success.”
