As part of its ongoing commitment to working in partnership with local communities, our East London regional team has donated a further £200 to Rochford Hundred Rugby Football Club U14’s team in Hawkwell, having previously given a donation of £1,200 last year to cover the costs of a rugby shirt for each of the 30, U14’s team players.
Rochford Hundred RFC was established in 1962 and is an important part of the local community. The club has over 20 teams for men, women, young adults and children in the area, ranging from non contact ‘Little Scrummers’ aged 2-6 years, through to the adult mens 1st team.
Commenting on the support it has received from Taylor Wimpey, Gary Barber, Youth Chairman at Rochford Hundred RFC said: “We are extremely grateful for the support that we have received from Taylor Wimpey and we can’t thank them enough for their generous donation. Without this type of help we wouldn’t be able to supply the teams with kit and it gives the players such a boost to be wearing smart, matching shirts, which in turn makes them feel more professional and play better.”
Michael O’Leary, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey East London said: “We are delighted to be able to support Rochford Hundred RFC with a donation to supply the U14’s team rugby shirts. The work we do is a lot more than just building high-quality homes. Being able to work with local businesses and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us and we wish everyone at Rochford Hundred RFC the best of luck for the current season.”
